Nigel Klein, Professor and Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London will detail findings on the movement of microbes as well as on routes of transmission and contamination in healthcare settings.
Dr Vanya Gant, HaCIRIC researcher & Divisional Clinical Director for Infection, University College London Hospitals will provide an overview of current research. There will also be presentations on modelling the effectiveness of cleaning agents and techniques as well as on new work to control the highly contagious norovirus.
This work is a key element in HaCIRIC’s research programme examining which HCAI control initiatives are most effective and how design of the underlying built infrastructure can also make a difference.
